WTMC Spring Workshop 24-26 April 2023 – “STS at work: Perspectives on Labour”

Date: April 24, 2023 until April 26, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Location:
Study and Conference Centre Soeterbeeck
Elleboogstraat 2
5352 LP Deursen-Dennenburg

WTMC Spring Workshop 24-26 April 2023 “STS at work: Perspectives on Labour”

STS often engages with issues related to work, e.g. when studying technology in workplace settings or when scrutinising laboratory environments or international collaborations. Yet as a unit of analysis, labour relations often stay implicit in STS scholarship. With this workshop, we want to bring together different strands of scholarship that draw attention to the labour dimension of science and technology, and also use this occasion to reflect on the labour involved in our own (institutional) practices as WTMC researchers.

Speakers at the workshop will include Stefan de Jong (Erasmus University Rotterdam), Rida Qadri (Google, Ethical Team – online), Guus Dix (University of Twente), Koen Beumer (Utrecht University) and Darian Meacham (Maastricht University).

Please note that the workshop is being organised as an on-site, residential event. Attendance to the three full days is mandatory.

WTMC PhD candidates can register for free.

For external PhD candidates a participation fee of € 695 is charged.

After their acceptance, external participants will receive an email with an invoice and online-payment request and receipt. To participate, you must pay the fee via the online payment request. Registration to the workshop is final after the advance payment has been received by WTMC.

The registration form for this workshop is now available here.

Please register by 6 March 2023!
