Sophie van der Does

Inter- and transdisciplinary research and education in practice

Institute for Science in Society, Faculteit der Natuurwetenschappen, Wiskunde & Informatica, Radboud Universiteit

Supervisors: Noelle Aarts & Lotte Krabbenborg

Background

Sophie van der Does studied philosophy and sociology in Amsterdam and Lisbon. During her PhD research at the RadboudUniversity in Nijmegen, she will study inter- and transdisciplinary research and education practices by taking an etnographic approach. In this research Sophie will focus on how issues and actors are included and excluded through time. Sophie is particularly interested in processes of deliberation and negotiation, not only between scientists themselves, but also between scientists and societal stakeholders.
